Lockdown

Are you grieving, feeling sad or lost and need help?

Over the past year many of us have experienced loss in some form or another.  Even the loss of freedom!  It has been quite an undertaking for us to stay home, to stay safe and to protect the NHS and ourselves..   This has had a huge impact on each and every one of us from loneliness and the feeling of isolation, deep sadness at losing a member of your family, a close friend, not being able to see one’s grandchildren and the loss of not having that first cuddle with a newborn. There are people who have lost their jobs and financial security and so on.  Ultimately we have all been affected in some way.

Grief is a natural part of life and binds us together as human beings and we will all experience some form of loss during our lifetime.

We may face up to 40 significant losses in our lifetime, many of which are unrecognised as is the impact they may have on us.

Some of the loss and grieving events we encounter are

      • Loss of a spouse, child, family member or friend - particularly if death is traumatic - accident or suicide for example.

      • Divorce

      • Children leaving home

      • Loss of a job and financial security

      • Loss through suicide

      • Loss of friendships

      • Loss of a pet

      • End of an addiction

      • Retirement

      • Coronavirus and Lockdown

      • Loss due to domestic violence

      • Moving home, moving school

Intangible examples of Loss and Grief

      • Loss of Confidence

      • Loss of Control

      • Loss of Faith

      • Loss of Trust

      • Loss of Fertility

The feeling of loss is overwhelming, experiencing all kinds of difficult and unexpected emotions from shock, anger, disbelief  and guilt.  It can attack our immune system leaving us vulnerable to illness, an increase in blood pressure with the risk of blood clots, feeling anxious and in some cases suicidal.

If you are suffering or know someone who is, then please  reach out to me and share your story.  I offer a complimentary 30 minute call which will enable you to ask any questions,  discuss the level of support needed, how the sessions can be conducted and costs.

I look forward to hearing from you.
